I stpped in Pacific Audio in Sacramento today. One of the sales guys tells me that Pionner is comming out with a new Bluetooth module to and he claims it will work on the Z3 and other models. I asked him what's new about it, after all, bluetooth is bluetooth, no bells and whistels about it. He didnt know what the new model is all about other then one is coming.

Any of you guys have the word on the new one? What in the world could another BT module offer that we arent getting now?????

I just got off the phone with Pioneer Customer Support asking when this rumored 'new BT Module' would be out. They have not knowledge of such new BT module. So, if you were like me, holding off, it dosent look like anything soon.

The person on the other end hears a pretty bad echo of their voice. The Z3 firmware and HD upgrade seemed to help a little but the echo is still there. My friends know right away if I'm in the car.

I would'nt buy any Pioneer products from New Egg. They are not an authorized Pioneer Dealer and Pionner will not honor the factory warantty. However, New Egg will lie to you unitl they turn blue that they are an authrozed Pionner re-seller. NOT!!!!!!!!

I wonder if this is what they are talking about? Newegg is offering two different Z2X bundles. One with the ND-BT1 bluetooth adapter and the other with the CD-BTB200 bluetooth adapter. Has anyone tried the CD-BTB200 with the Z series yet?

I just did a google search on the CD-BTB200. This apears to be a new Bluetooth Module release. I can't figure out why pioneer denied the existence of a new upgrade. I spoke to them by phone last friday 6/13..BASTARDS!!!!!

that is for the D3, the BT1 is for the Z-series...

The CD-BTB200 has been out for quite a while now. Nothing new here. I seriously doubt Pioneer will want to put out a new model that only works on outdated equipment.

That's got nothing to do with the current model being unable to do it's job. That's just a software update and some common sense regarding mic placement in relation to speaker location.

If you did the update, then try either moving the mic a few inches either way, or utilizing the menu options of which speaker(s) to output the incoming audio from.

Think about what causes the far end to hear an echo...it's because the mic is picking up what's coming out of the speaker and sending it back to the far end. The software update should have some sort of echo cancellation built in, and the the rest is up to the end user to find the sweet spot for their mic. There's no one good place because each vehicle type has different acoustical characteristics............

sorry for the long winded explanation, but my background is in sound reenforcement and acoustics 8)

has anyone tried putting the D3 bluetooth with the Z model?

the bluetooth on that system, no know knows i'm on my D3 handsfree ...

are the plugs different?

i think it woudl be good if it could be used on the 'z' deck, might get rid of that echo problem everyobne complains about..

i'm guessing no one has tried the btb200 on the Z deck?

the Z deck does have the bus connection, and that's how it's connected.. i'm thinking it would be great if it did as that bluetooth works perfectly, unlike what i have read about the ND BT1 ..

guessing they should have come out with a ND BT2 LOL

maybe i'll try it .. i'm grab'n a Z deck this week (found a deal on a Z1 and already ordered the updated drive from Garret, which was great to deal with him).

so no one has tried the D3's bluetooth module on the Z deck to see if it works?

also... i noticed that the same place on the back of the D3 where the ipod cable plugs in, the plug is also on the back of the Z deck.. what's it for if not for the ipod..

the btb200 works, but only as an external device. i tried mine on my brothers z1 and it only showed up as ext. 1....so basically the controls were non existent and it didnt work. not sure about the z2 or z3 but the z1 didnt work well. i gotta find him the bt1 for the z series for him
