Hello,

I got Avic D3 couple days ago, and installed it through Best Buy. System works great, and it is amazing. However I have 2 question that I would like to have answer for.

1) I tried bypass method showed in this website. However it seems like Best Buy has used some VW harness with Avic D3. So I could not find yellow/black wire. Does anyone know how to get this bypass in VW jetta 06?

2) I installed ipod cable yesterday. It works great, but my cable is hanging out on dash. I am wondering if anyone knows how to get this through glovebox in Jetta. In my glovebox on left there is little hole but I could not get cable through that. If someone knows how to open glovebox that would be great.

Thanks

Is the white harness with all the RCA connectors on it in there? That's the connector that the mute wire/bypass is located, not the power/speaker wire harness. If you aren't using a backup cam or an external amplifier they may have left it out because it wasn't being used. If so, they may have left it in the box or just not gave it to you.

I have that harness. I believe that I have to connect that in back of avic d3, however there is already a VW harness that is taking that female jack in back of Avic D3. So where would I connect this RCA harness?

That Pioneer RCA harness is the only thing that should be able to fit in the port on the back of the D3... There shouldn't (and can't really) be anything else plugged into it.

Go here: http://www.avic411.com/D3Bypass/album0.html You'll see exactly what to do and where to do it.

Oh, so there is white slot in back of Avic D3, where I need to plug Avic D3 white RCA harness right? Once I plug that in after moving that mute cable should I just leave other ends unplugged?

its very simple. the VW harness is used for your main wires. power, ground, speakers, etc....the harness that HiFiSi is talking about is one that came with your d3 and plugs into the 2nd connector on the deck....it has absolutely nothing to do with the car. the mute wire is the black and yellow wire on there
