I am looking for the best price on a Brand new Z1 but it's important to me to buy from a certified dealer. Any pricing knowledge is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've been checking around myself and prefer to buy from an authorized dealer too. 6ave.com occassionally runs a sale for $1515 every now and then. I wasn't ready to buy at the time but I am now. The ones that are authorized want to charge the list price. Some of them will claim to be authorized dealers but when I send email to pioneerelectronics.com to verify it, it turns out that they are not. I may consider buying from an unauthorized dealer and buy a 3 year extended warranty which covers the unit and it would still be cheaper than paying full price. My question to that is who covers the first year where the extended warranty would start in the second year.

Sorry to tell ya, but I dont think they are Pioneer Authorized Dealers, as the OP wanted. It looks like they sold you a 3 year "service plan" from a third party called CPS. Has nothing to do with Pioneer or a warranty service.

Well there might be a catch with 6th ave. If you look at what there are autorized to sell online, car equipment is not listed. Others have car systems listed as allowed.

I ordered mine from them (8/19/06) with the bluetooth, ipod, rear-camera and 2nd day shipping all for $2023 out the door. Not sure if they are a certified dealer, but everything was new and complete (july 2006 unit).

They even requested verification of the payment, which shows they are very concerned with protecting from fraudlent purchases. I highly recommend them.
