Hi everyone, I have a question. I need to decide between the AVIC-Z2 or the AVIC-F90BT. The place I will be buying it from can install it with the proper hacks so I can watch videos and such on the Z2, but not on the F90. They are unsure how to bypass that.

They also made it a great deal for me to take the Z2. They took off 800 bucks off the unit and alot off the setup/install.

But part of me want the F90BT just because its brand new. And other little things that the Z2 cannot do. Also its cheeper by 300 Bucks.

So, which head unit would you guys choose?

it it were the z3 itd be a tougher choice but the f90bt has too much more to offer than the z2 to turn it down.

The F90 has: more updated maps

ability to play videos on ipod

ability to change key colors

usb drive

sd card

bluetooth

I THINK msn direct (COORECT ME IF IM WRONG)

the only drawback to it i think is north always points up on the map rather than you always point up.

and i think ive seen a bypass already found for the f90bt. i know for sure theyve found it for the f700bt, but idk if theyre the same.

go with the f90bt its wayyy past the z2

They only downside I saw was that the F90BT was alot slower then the Z2... As in Voice commands and such. Also the Tech showing me the units could not get his cell to link with the HU for some time. He had to reconnect about 6 times before it went.

yeh no doubt it has lil bugs like that but so did the d3 when it came out. in time theyll be fixed and about the linking it could just be his phone. but to be honest if ur gonna go with the z series over the f at least get the 3...ull miss out on alotta cool features but at least ull have 2008 maps.
