If the nav is showing you in LA, either the disk is no good or you aren't getting a good GPS signal. Is the disk you bough the actual Pioneer nav disk or is it a burned copy?

1. Check to make sure you are getting a good satellite signal to the unit.

2. Reset the unit to factory settings and clear all the calibration/learning data thatis in tere from the previous car. LINK

3. Try a different disk.

i bought the disk on ebay said it was the original. it was sealed

i dont accually have the avic in my car i just connected my power cable to my batery and ground as well just to test it

i was reading other forums and it said to just reset it and pop in disc and it should find your position

Ummm... you have the antenna plugged in, right???

And it's got a clear view of the sky... and you are not in a garage or anything like that?

Anyway, if you clear out the old learning info like in the link I put in up there, and the unit has a good satellite signal, it may take a little driving around before it will calibrate/adjust/find it's current position.
