Just bought D3 Not workng with my IPOD Video only Ipod Touch

I Just purchased my pioneer D3 but for some reason my Video Ipod wont work on it? It wont play any music at all... But it does work for my brothers Ipod touch?? I was told there's an update or something that could fix this? This is the ipod wire i bought. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0240096591

Is it the iPod VIDEO for sure? Aka 5.5 generation? Or the NEW iPod classic? I know the new iPod classics have a authorzation chip that can cause headaches and often render the device useless with the D3...the 5.5g video should work fine, mine does.

More info, is the audio working and not the video? If thats the case then make sure TV out on the ipod is turned on. If nothing works then the dock on the ipod is probably defective.

The incompatibility issues are only with video playback. ALL ipods are able to play audio over the Pioneer ipod cable. If it yours doesn't play music on your system and another ipod does, there is something wrong with your ipod.

i also tried it on my friends nano but it didn't work either, it only charged it. I think i might of bought a ghetto ipod cable off of eBay... hmm you think if i buy the Apple Composite Cable it will allow me to use my ipod AND watch videos on my d3 through my ipod?

Yes, but you wouldn't be able to control it from the D3's interface/ You would basically just have the audio and video running out from the ipod and in through the D3's AV inputs. You would need to use the ipod for control.
