AVIC D-3 Installed for a year, after reconnecting the battery the system, prompts for password (normal), but no letters type (asterisk) or sound heard? I have reset the system. Pioneers only suggestion to disconnect everything and let sit for thirty minutes’ I let it sit for a couple of hours no change when I reconnected. Any suggestions before I send it to them. (Out of warranty by 2 weeks) Thanks in advance

It looks fine it just acts like the touchscreen is not enabled

Be sure you have a solid ground and if you done the bypass, check all your connections. If the system detects a improperly grounded parking brake wire, it perminantly (or atleast mine did) locks the touch screen until the wire is fixed but it will only notify you once. When i tried resetting mine, it would immediately pop up with the error again but i assume since yours is password protected, it pops up with that first rather than the error.

You are my hero and just saved cash and sending it to pioneer. The ground wire was faulty under one of the snap over press on wire splitters. I took me a few days because a medical issue with my wife. It’s a same that the pioneer techs don’t come close to the knowledge of this site.

Thanks again

No problem, I a glad it worked out and I hope your wife is doing well. Personally, I went on a float trip this weekend and ended up saving about 15 people who would listen to the warnings and capsized in a terrible area...

Glad you help you anyways.
