New here, my boyfriend just purchased a D3 for a cross country trip he is taking to his next duty station in California (he is in the Navy), anyway, he and I just took a trip to his home in Ohio for his 1 month pcs leave and we found the Nav unit wasn't giving us voice commands.

Anyone else have a problem with this? I was so excited about this unit and he bought it right away then was highly disappointed

1 - If you go into the nav settings > volume menu, you can turn the voice prompts on and off, as well as adjust their volume.

2 - If the car is using a factory amp, some of them only accept 2 channel input. The voice prompts are only broadcast out of the front channel, so if it's connected to the factory amp using the rear outputs, the voice prompts won't come through.
