I have searched this but maybe im not typing in the right words.

I want to hook up my iphone to the av jack on the d3 unit, how will I get sound, and also can I play my mp3;s through that? Now if I get the new cables from Apple, and get video and audio playing what happens when I get a call, will it pause the movie or song like it does with the ipod, and allow me answer it with the blue tooth?

Buying the Apple AV cable and hooking the iphone to the AV inputs will work fine. You can play audio and video just as if you had it hooked up to any television. Just plug it in, select the AV input on the D3, then control the audio or video playback from the iphone.

I don't know what happens if you get a call mid-video, though. I'm assuming it will pause the video and you could pick it back up where it left off. But I don't really know.

Does this still enable me to play songs from the iphone as well

Yes, but you would have to use the ipod to control it, not the radio.

To be able to do both, you would have to have the Pioneer ipod cable hooked to the D3's ipod port, as well as the Apple AV cable hooked to the AV1 input. When you want to play/control music from the D3, you need to plug your iphone into the Pioneer cable and select ipod as the source. When you want to play videos, you need to plug your iphone into the Apple cable and select AV1 as your aource.

Ok thanks for the help one more thing, would there be a way I could use my iphone to have an interface on screen, but switch to av to watch movies?

Yeah... just like I said above, you would need two cables. It would require switching between the two cables for playing audio over the D3's ipod interface, and playing videos over the D3's AV input.

Please send me a link on where to purchase these two cables so I know im not getting a knock, off, I purchased what was called a CD-I200 Pioneer cable on eBay for 15 bucks and it wont play my ipods or iphone, it powers the units but no songs.

I have this very same setup through the AV on my D3 and it does pause the vid/song when you get a call from the phone.

Where do you have your iphone mounted when you have your movie/songs playing, i just don't want it in the glove box cause getting in and out of the car it would be a hassle.
