ok so i bought my d3 the other day off of caraudio.com and i recieved it yesterday and installed it today and i noticed that it asks for the "appropriate" disc on start up and i when i go to put my navigation disc in it takes it in for a couple seconds then it comes back out. same thing with CDs too. ![]()
Disc Spitting out
is the disc scratched up or dirty? some readers are more sensititve than others
Maybe there's already another disk in there that it won't eject...
it would still take a 2nd cd in like that???
I've seen weirder things... if the mechanism's messed up and doesn't realize there's already one in there it will.
well it makes the normal noises and stuff its just it takes about 3-4 seconds and the disc comes back out?? i mean i dont want to get this thing fixed either. i looked in the back hatch and didnt see a disc?
if theres no disc in there then its gotta be the disc or the reader inside....unless HiFiSi has another suggestion as to what it could be id put my money on that.
should i open it up and see if anythings wrong. i mean i hate sending things in.

ummmmm...........wouldnt recommend it unless you have experience wit that kinda thing.......i took the z3 keypad apart when i was gonna change the leds and i was nervous jus doin that...and ive had my share of car electronics experience
If you just bought it and it's not working correctly, send it back.
Send it back, don't void the warranty and be stuck with a non working unit!
well i bought it used off caraudio.com in a private sale. i mean it was made in july of 2007? this is depressing. how much are the CD things in these things??
its been reset and what not and it keeps asking for the disc. the disc is super scratched up though. i mean nothing on the screen says error or anything that the actual player is bad. i just need a new copy i think?

thats exactly what i first suggested. try a disc fixer-upper thingy. see if that does it

cd scratch repair kit!! sry took a minute lol
haha i hate to say it the other cds i put in it were scratched too but i mean... does the unit need that disc to set everything up, i mean id love to see my voltage and set the clock up. let alone use the actual navigation
You need a working nav disk to set up the unit. If you check the classifieds/forsale section on this site or ebay and I'm sure you could find a replacement.
