Hello,

I have a SD card that I put in the 700BT and nothing shows up.

I put a movie on it a MP4 format but nothing shows up.

This SD card works fine everywhere else...

Should there be a certain format the SD card should be?

Thanks

hmm...

wonder why mine isnt working

it was at fat32 and 512mb with a mp4 clip on it...

can it be a faulty sd card slot??

You 100% sure it was an MP4 file?

Posted Jul 17, 2008 · 14:53 UTC#5

yup

i used a ipod convertor to make it a mp4 file.

video works through ipod but the same video does not through the sd card...

That's odd. I can play MP4 files off of two different SD cards as well as off a USB thumb drive on my unit. Maybe you just have a bad card or there's something wrong with the SD card port on the unit...

Try playing the same MP4 file(s) on a thumb drive using the USB input instead and see what happens. Also, try a different SD card if you can.

Will try that.

It would suck if I have a bad SD port...

Hate to remove all that and ........ahhhh

Thanks!

Well at least if it is bad, you know it'll be fixed for free under warranty. Assuming you bought it from an authorized dealer, that is.

yup

actually i am still within the 30day window

bought it from al-eds.

are you putting it in before you start the car?

Posted Jul 17, 2008 · 20:50 UTC#11

nope i think i put it in after i started the car...

Posted Jul 18, 2008 · 14:37 UTC#12

i have to put mine in before i start the car in order for it to be recognized.. try that.

Posted Jul 18, 2008 · 15:21 UTC#13

That shouldn't make any difference. Or it's not supposed to anyway. It doesn't on mine.

I had a similar problem. It was because the SD card I was using was in FAT16 format for some reason. Reformatted it to FAT32 and that fixed it and the unit recognizes it fine.

It was odd considering considering that the manual said it was compatible. But can't argue with success...

Can you organize mp3s and mp4's in different folders w/ an SD card?

Posted Jul 28, 2008 · 16:14 UTC#16

Yes. It's actually advisable to do so if you've got a lot of files on there, otherwise you'd be scrolling through one huge list of files to find what you're looking for.

From the manual:

fxghdfghndcfghn.jpg

The initial folder (01) is the disk.

I guess the best way to do it (to make it easiest to find what you want) would be:

Disk

------Genre 1

-----------------Artist 1

---------------------------Album 1

---------------------------Album 2

-----------------Artist 2

---------------------------Album 1

---------------------------Album 2

------Genre 2

-----------------Artist 1

---------------------------Album 1

---------------------------Album 2

-----------------Artist 2

---------------------------Album 1

---------------------------Album 2

ok, thank you for clearing it up.

I'm going to make a folder for some mpeg 4 videos. and a seperate one for mp3s.

I just didn't know if i would be able to seperate everything.
