Hey guys, I was wondering what device I would need to keep my steering wheel mounted volume control with my Z3 headunit.

there is a piece but theyre car specific. what car do you have? its probably the PAC SWI-PS

http://www.pac-audio.com/products/produ ... ace#SWI-PS

its the PAC SWI-PS. i already made sure it works for your jag but if you want to see for yourself, at the top, click application guide/ vehicle applcation guide, fill out the info and then click the category "OE Integration - Use OE Steering Wheel Controls with New Radio". it'll be the 3rd one down

I have a QX4, 2003. Is there a device that works for that as well?

does the F have a wired remote input?

Posted Jul 28, 2008 · 15:03 UTC#10

Im not sure to be honest.

Posted Jul 28, 2008 · 15:05 UTC#11

if it doesnt then thatd be why lol. if it does, then i have no idea. i wish it did though, i miss my swc's

Yes all F series have wired remote input that can be used with steering wheel control adapters.

but the swi-ps doesnt work with the F?

Posted Jul 28, 2008 · 15:18 UTC#14

It doesnt list the F series.. Would be great to have back that control.

Anyone have any ideas?

Posted Jul 28, 2008 · 15:19 UTC#15

has anyone tried to use it anyway? maybe the list wasnt updated.

Posted Jul 28, 2008 · 15:22 UTC#16

Thats possible, if it wasn't updated and is still usable it woudl make the F series that much better.

Posted Jul 28, 2008 · 15:24 UTC#17

id attempt it but i cant find the damn connector. i tried every plug in the steering column and its none of em

Posted Jul 28, 2008 · 15:28 UTC#18

hmm...sounds like it might end up to be a costly adaption then...

Posted Jul 28, 2008 · 15:31 UTC#19

no, its not expensive at all, its compatible with the rx8, and shows a diagram of the connector...its just a matter of finding the right one...

but stereodan, if it has steering wheel controls, should there be a swc wire in the OEM harness? otherwise how else would it work?
