what is the device number for ?, under setting / hardware

just wondering? its not the serial number. they should make a way not to just peal off a sticker to change the serial number. they should have it programed in.

my frist z1 one was stolen . so i was just wondering why their is not some kind of security built it in.

I could be totally wrong but I think that the device number is the XM Receiver #. I am not near my vehicle to check but for some reason that popped in my head... Hope I am right, could be wrong. LOL

Im not sure which one the OP is asking about, but I know there is both a Pioneer device ID for the head unit itself, and the XM Radio devce ID. I would love to know what the Pioneer head unit ID is for also. It doesnt match the serial # or anything! LOL :)
