I worked until now in mexico for one year, where i bought the avic D2. Now i will go back to the headquarter of our company, in Austria, and of course i want to use it there too.

I searched a lot in the internet, but i couldn't find anything:(.

i saw a video, i think in youtube or so, and i saw some other threads where people modified a D3 for the use in europe.

What is to do? is it only because the region code? or can I update the firmware or so? i didn't try it until now, but i will need it next week when I'm back.

I'm sorry to say it won't be usable in Austria. Whatever you saw about the D3 being modded to work in Europe wasn't true either. It just doesn't work.

thank you for your answer. then i think i have to sell it, but can you tell me why it will not work? i only want to know this for information, because i have a pal too, there i had the european softweare, and when i went to America i only changed the software and it worked.

Are the coordinates locked by pioneer on the device? or what is the problem?

I don't really know why it doesn't work... all i know that everybody who's posted here that they are trying to make a US unit work in Europe has failed, even after very extensive efforts.
