Is there anyway to upgrade the software the AVH-P6600DVD to the software thats on the 5700DVD?

For some reason they discountinued the AVH-P6600DVD, and the IPOD support on the AVHP5700 is much better (it actually displays the song title, time remaining, allows you to fast forward/reverse, etc)

If its anything like the D2, then the poor iPod support isn't from the software its from the lack of a chip that allows the iPod to be fully functional on the unit.

oh wow, im shocked on how a later model unit like avh-p6600 can be weaker than its predecessor the 5700..

that could be why they maybe discontinued the 6600?

wow pioneer is awful when it comes to product support

The 5700DVD came out a year after the 6600DVD, so the 6600 is the predecessor, and thats why it doesn't have the enhanced ipod control
