I posted not too long ago that when i played a mp3 cd it would just shut down and i couldnt turn back on. Well now it did it with the library today. I never had problems before. While im driving it will just shut off automatically and it will not likely reboot unless i turn car off and turn it back on a few times to get the power going. Now i upgraded to a z3 with a fresh image. I saw that firmware update for freezing issues at start up, but its only for z1,z2. I did that way back. Did the z3 come with the firmware updated or should i try and put the cd in. who knows if that is even the problem. It is not overheating, it wasnt even hot out.

There are no other firmware updates for the Z3 other than the initial load. You may want to make sure that your Z3 drive has true Z3 software, and not a mash drive.

i downloaded it off here and got the full working image when it was just put up. it worked great for like few months or whenever it got released on here, but now i am suddenly here and there seeing it just shut off sometimes it restarts but then just shuts down again and sometimes it just does not come back on. any ideas?

I would start by checking all yoru connections including the wires in the AVIC harness. Does it go completely dead, as no lights or anything? Sounds like you may be losing power to the unit.

no lights nothing, it goes completely dead but if im not mistaken i can hear it still running like power? maybe not im just imagining. buttons dont work, sometimes it will restart but then it just shuts down again. it will go good sometimes but i have noticed lately it just shuts down and sometimes wont even go back on while driving. what connection could it be? i hate taking apart the center console.

Also, what hard drive are you using?

that toshiba 60gb the one that everyone using and not had problems. Like i said i never had a problem z1-z2. I thought my z3 was great for months now something happens like this frequently now. Library,dvd whenever. It hasnt done it when AV is off and navi is just on yet. Im not really a big electrican man and checking 12v wires. Should i reimage my drive with the one right now on the ftp?
