Cool site, where does it say Z1 will be update via DVD? And what does 'optional' mean? I don't want to fork out another $250 to update this thing. It should be included for the price we paid for the unit.

JDPdata, from what I gather the update will be for new roads and what not that are created across the US. I assume it will be much like the Street Pilot Deluxe whereby you have to pay for updated information.

Hey, when you enter the site, goto AVIC z1, then click guidance, then goto HDD navigation, listen to the voice prompt. It says, "The TeleAtlas database stored on the Hard Disk drive can be updated by inserting optional DVD's available from pioneer." So maybe it may be more then one update DVD, like one for streets, one for ipdod, but it should be integrated into one CD. But who knows? God Bless

Nice, has been updated since last year. Although our rep said this year it is www.drivehappier.com. Looks like they are the same thing
