So i dont know if any of you have a similar issue or can help with mine, i got a D3 and the guy hard wired it. dont know why. but when im driving it shuts off for a split second and comes back on. But when it shuts off, it doesnt restart as if you were just starting up your car, it comes back on to the same station or nav where i was driving.
D3 shuts off and on every so often?
Could be a loose power wire.
I doubt it's a loose power wire. Mine does that too, especially when I'm using the bluetooth module. In fact, it even happens when I use bluetooth to my headset. The audio keeps playing, but looks like the entire UI reboots.
I think there's going to be a D3 + IPOD + BTB200 + XM package on ebay soon... Preferably before I put my fist through the screen!

That's why I got rid of my D3. On a long trip the nav unit would reset, similarily to when you would hit the reset button - however the music never stopped playing. Then upon reboot, all my audio settings were reset. Happened a few times on a 300 mile roadtrip.
Pioneer TAC was worthless.
Well, I knew I was buying the least expensive unit that had a ton of features. I didn't expect it to be perfect, but I've been disappointed constantly by AVIC-D3.
Unit resets regularly. Just reboots, often 2 or 3 times in a row. Music keeps playing though...
BlueTooth: This is the worst bluetooth I've ever used. A big feature of handsfree in the car is using voice command dialing. That doesn't work with this rig. On any phone I've tried... Let's not even talk about phone books, CID display, or switching between calls. Oh, and don't turn the vehicle off if you are in the middle of a call.... If you're lucky, 30 - 45 seconds later you'll get the audio back on your handset...
NAV: Horrible. Clumsy interface. Doesn't track well. Thinks it's in New York for days at a time. Full strength signal too... POI search is almost worthless. And why do I have to press OK every freaking time I want to use it? That's annoying. I agreed to those terms and conditions when I bought the freaking unit. I get it, OK?
XM: Why can't I save 'favorite stations' and switch between them using the buttons on the left side of the unit?? Why does it randomly skip channels? And the always annoying "XM Updating" message...
IPOD: Interface is horrible - Even an Alphabet search would help. I don't want to try and scroll though thousands of items in the list to find what I want. Especially when driving.
Screen Brightness: Would it have been so hard to let the unit sense ambient brightness, or go by time? Since our state requires headlights when it rains, during daytime you can't see the display. Yes I know you can switch the settings everytime, but thats not the point.
Sound adjustments are not something you can do while driving. Why isn't there a simple way to toggle through some sound presets?
Pioneer Support: Oh, right...
There's more, but yeah, I think I'm totally fed up with this POS. /rant off... didn't mean to hijack the thread...
AVIC-D3: Appearing soon on an Ebay screen near you...
