Is there A way to tell if the cable ribbon is broken or defective once it is removed from the unit ? I see no tears or rips in the ribbon and dont want to waste money on a new one if this is not the problem

Why dont you tell us what problem your having?

The unit when plugged in operates as normal. The screen flips out and up and the Lights light up. The thing thats the issue is the moniter is not displaying any information or none of the functions work ,so its just a blank black screen .I`ve tried unpluging the unit and reseting it but still does the same thing.

Take a flashlight and shine it against the screen and see if you can see anything on the screen.

If you can, your backlight is out. If not, than it can be your cable, in addition to other possible things.

Hey thanks I`ll try it and see how it works ,but since I already have the cable out is there a way to check that visually or any other way to see if it`s damaged

If you cant see any cracks or anything no, but good luck trying to get that sucker back in there snug and secure.
