NAV problem with time remaining

We took my car with the AVIC-D# unit from New Hampshire to Virginia and back - about 1:44 away from home, the time remaining counter stopped counting down.

Now, when I enter a route, it has astronomical times calculated - like 5 hours to go the 10 miles between work and home, etc...

Anyone else experienced this? Or did I break "Sheila"? (yes we named the nav voice)

i was having the same problem... for a trip that would normally take an hour it was saying 6. the directions were still right on, nav worked perfectly. i dealt with it, then when i had to take the unit out to put in my bluetooth, i reset the unit after i unplugged all the harnesses. this fixed it. if you do not want to take the d3 out of the dash, try the little reset button(use a small pointed object on the little button next to eject)

Go to SETTINGS MENU > SYSTEM OPTIONS > AVERAGE SPEED

You can set the average speed for minor roads, major roads and highways. If these settings have somehow been set to a very low speed, the estimated time of the route will be way longer that it should be because the nav uses the speeds set on that page to calculate how long a route will take.
