Upgraded from Z1 to Z3 - having problem with Rear View Cam

I just upgraded from the Z1 to Z3 hard drive. I had Ducatiboys flasher bypas on my Z1, and it worked flawlessly. After upgrading the drive to Z3, everything worked fine.... except that my flasher bypass doesn't work anymore.... which I was told that when I bought the new drive.

I went in and did the 2-Wire bypass myself.....probably should have disconnected the ducatiboy flasher bypass.... but I decided to just leave it on there. After I finished the 2-wire bypass, everything seems to work fine except:

1) My Rear view camera doesn't work anymore. It did work after I installed the Z3 drive, and before I did the 2-wire bypass

2) In Map Settings, and under View Mode.... 3 options are grayed out.... Guide Mode, Route View adn Rear View are all grayed out

My first guess is that I need to remove the flasher bypass....... but I was hoping there might be an easier fix ??? I would appreciate any thoughts/insight that you guys might have!

Thanks

I got the Flasher Bypass removed, and I still have the same problem.... no Backup camera, and the above mentioned View Modes are blacked out.... I give up !! Anyboby ???

I assume that you had to disconnect the power to the AVIC when you did the 2 wire bypass. Have you turned the backup camera back on?

This is from memory, so you may need to tweak:

Hit the AV button

Hit ‘settings’

Hit system settings

Camera ‘on’ or ‘off’

As far as the grayed out ‘guide’ and ‘route’ modes, you MUST have a destination programmed i.e. “go home†or another location selected.

Please let me know if this helps or not.

You are correct...... had to turn on the Camera again, after disconnecting the battery cable..... and just for all those out there who still have the flasher bypass on >>> There is no need to remove it after you do the new 2-wire bypass. Unless you want to.... but that opened up a can of worms for me. Doing the 2-wire bypass was easy.... should have just left it at that, instead of removing the old flasher bypass. I upgraded from AVIC Z1 to the new Z3 hard drive from Garett Toomey. Had it not been for Garett, I may be paying several hundred dollars for a re-wiring.... and I hate to thing about this.... but maybe even 1500 to 2000 had I fried my unit. Got it all fixed now, thanks to Garett !!
