is there even a difference besides new maps? they look the same
Maps are upgraded with the new software (ieLgreen disks) POI's are the same as the red disks.

whats the difference between green and red.....can N4 owners just burn the N5 discs and use them? cuz if so, that would be alot better than spending $1500 MSRP for the same unit with new maps IMO.
I'm assuming so but not 100% sure. this was just the info I got today from Pioneer when I called. Sorry

so there is going to be an software up date?
Got the N-5 two weeks ago and having troubles with bluetooth connection between treo 700w and unit....installer thinks it is the Treo phones. Otherwise unit works great.
Yea im kinda failing to see a point to get the N5 when you have a N4

ok so torrent the disk
I would use caution on this. Using the OEM Pioneer DVD for the N5 could brink your older N unit.
Keep in mind the OEM DVD released in the N5 could be different that the 'Upgrade' DVD released for your N1, N1, N3, N4..
Unless we can verify the part numbers are the same, I wouldn't use it.
No, they are the same part number, and will work with the old N and D series. Intmedhead, please rip those disks and torrent them for us ASAP!!
Anyone have answers on how to get the N-5 to not disconnect from the Treo 700w while changing screens on the N-5?
There is generally connection problems with the Pioneer's and Windows Mobile phones. Delete the pairing from both the radio and the phone, then install this program:
after thats installed, reset the phone and the radio and try pairing again. That worked for me with my AT&T tilt and the D3.
Thanks for the suggestions. I will give it a try.

I had a problem with my PDA phone and n4, pioneer does not support windows phones is what the problem is. Download the 'fix' from http://www.jetwaremobile.com/ and it will probably work - worked for me. I have a Sprint HTC Mogul which is a windows based phone as well. My husband's SPrint Instinct works great with it.
I tried to re-download the jetwaremobile software, but the N-5 still disconnects from the Treo when I switch screens on the N-5...it might just well be the Treo.
I have installed the jetwaremobile twice and still the N-5 disconnects from the Treo when I change screens. Not sure whatelse to do....I am afraid to reset the N-5 because I don't want to lose all my entries.
Hey intmedhead, how bout a torrent of those discs? You'll be doing many of us a great favor....
Are you having troubing pairing your Treo with any other Bluetooth devices?
Do you make it far enough to get a PIN# request?
Maybe there's a hard-reset on your Treo?
Have you tried to pair another bluetooth phone to your N5?
Hi Type S,
I have tried to reset the treo and redownload the jetwaremobile.com. I am afraid of resetting the N-5 because I loaded a lot of phone numbers to the unit. The owner of the store who installed my unit tried his bluetooth phone, which worked great, but his was not a smartphone.
You said you loaded a lot of contacts / phone numbers.
Typically when a bluetooth phone is 'paired' with a device the phone directory is shared to the bluetooth device. I have a Parrot in my car paired with my Blackberry. I can see all my contacts on the Parrot screen.
If you never get asked for a device pin it will never pair. Just trying to figure out where it gets stuck.
