Pioneer is playin around. They prolly release it nex year instead. What part of the game is this???

Probably marketing related.

Avic N5 just came out. They'd rather have folks buy N5, than update their N4's w/ new media hence the delay.

My $.02

this is bull shit now :x

Ahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

I'm sorry... it sucks for you guys... but this is just friggin' hilarious. It's obvious that the disk is already done... it's packaged in with the N5 units.

Somebody needs to go buy an N5 unit, rip the disks, and return the unit. Then seed the disk images on a torrent for you guys.

Anyone work at a store where the N5's are being sold? Maybe you have a display model you can "borrow" the disks from to do that?

This is just getting ridiculous, seriously

Posted Aug 19, 2008 · 15:43 UTC#7

Im going to bestbuy today to see if they have the n5.

Posted Aug 19, 2008 · 16:05 UTC#8

they only have the n4 on their website, and CC has the N5 on their site but not in stores :(

Posted Aug 19, 2008 · 17:10 UTC#9

Ok just so i'm clear on this, the N5 disks will work for the D3 correct?

Posted Aug 19, 2008 · 17:13 UTC#10

N5 specs list the same part # for the disks CNDV-80MTP

Posted Aug 19, 2008 · 17:15 UTC#11

i thought the part number is supposed to be cndv-80mt

Posted Aug 19, 2008 · 17:40 UTC#12

pioneer does not want u to buy the updated disk , they want u to spend way more money and buy a WHOLE NEW UNIT.

PIONEER SUCKS!

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 00:01 UTC#14

i tried calling my local stereo store to see if they had any in stock and had no luck. Hopefully someone else will get a hold of this disk. Pioneer really blows

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 00:13 UTC#15

I think we should stick it back to Pioneer and have the disc put on a torrent for everybody.

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 01:08 UTC#16

exactly. I guess Pioneer doesnt realize that they are just costing themselves money, because no one is going to upgrade from the N4 to the N5 just for map updates, and we are just going to get ahold of the discs ourselves and upload them for everyone.

Hahahahahaha.....hehehehehe....hahahaha!!!!

I'm laughing my ass off....Pioneer is SO HORRIBLE at product support, it's gotten way past the stage of comical. Now it's just absolutely pathetic!

About four months ago, I offered to bet somebody on this site that Pioneer will NEVER release AVIC-D3 map updates -- much less actual upgrades to correct all the silly, ridiculous software bugs and shoddy programming.

It's now four months or more since somebody offered to take me up on the bet for $1000. Let's call it $100/mo. You now owe me $400...and counting.

Anyone taking bets on when they'll change it to "coming in October" ? I say it changes to that on 30 Sep 08!

LOL

In the meantime, entire new COUNTIES full of towns have been built that aren't on the Pioneer map disks for the D3....disks made over 18 months ago with data that was probably older than that.

Even sadder is the fact that Pioneer refuses to admit the D3 has all the problems it had.

When I had my D3, I remember sitting in my car thinking things like:

"Are you kidding me??? They couldn't scroll full song titles in XM??? They couldn't make the voice dialing commands from my Bluetooth phone actually be AUDIBLE so I can hear my phone asking if it heard me right??? Is this a prototype product? WTF????"

Even funnier are all the secret Pioneer "plants" and Audio salespeople who constantly offer apologies and excuses for Pioneer in these Forums....

LOL!

yeah i can see it now, pioneer will end up just like sony.

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 01:27 UTC#19

yea

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 01:51 UTC#20

is this thing going to be ripable ......we should do a group buy if so & make it downloadable.....

Posted Aug 21, 2008 · 01:03 UTC#21

Anyone have any luck in locating the N5 discs?
