I know I am assuming based on what I got in an email were I specifically asked them about this iPod issue. There response seems to indicate they are aware of it, and are going to release a firmware update to fix it. I mean if there was no fix coming or that a new firmware update wouldn't have anything to do with the iPod issue. Why respond at all? They could have said that there are currently no plans to fix the issue, or anything else to indicate that we are SOL.
Not saying your wrong but, it doesn't make any sense to me for them to respond to something like this without there being some truth to it. They did at least push and update to fix other issues with the unit. I know that doesn't speak for all there other units that may have never been updated or fixed well. But, there track record with the new F- Series seems to indicate they are willing to fix problems with it. And it's a brand new model, ect.
Also here is the rest of the email. Or rather from the start of me asking them about the iPod issue:
Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc.
There will be a new software update soon for the F-series. Just keep checking on the Pioneer website for the model you have.
Thank You,

Just curious if there is any news on this issue?
I have recently updated to the latest 2.0.2 update for the iPod Touch.
Still doesn't work. I wasn't expecting it to some how fix the issue but,
had hoped maybe it would. So, if there is anything new to report or to know
that it is being worked on, that would be great.

I think that is pretty specific.
yeah they could still screw us, and that rep may not know squat about anything. But I think its a pretty strait answer.
