Do you have to have the optional ipod cable to control the ipod or can you control it through the usb port. I don't really care about the ipod video, just audio.

Kenwood does have a USB ipod cable that will only work for audio. I believe its the KCA-iP100. I dont know if it is compatible with the 5120 though.
