I just hooked up my AVIC D1 in a toyota landcrusier 1997.
It powers up but when I insert the nav disk, it does read it. Say something like disk read error...?

Did you open the unit all the way and use the lower slot ? Try the other nav disc to make sure its not the disc ?

YEs make sure you hold the eject button for at least 1 second and load the dvd disc into the lower slot.

I'm dumb... that fixed it!

I really do have this problem I just bought a D1 installed it and it tells me to insert the correct disc. I installed it in the lower DVD slot, tried east and west discs. I have version 1.2. I did the reset.

Any suggestions?

I have the same exact problem. Seems like an on-going problem with these and the NAV disks not loading properly.

are these backups ?

I have this same problem too. I sent it to Pioneer TWICE to fix the problem and it's happening again.

would probably ask pioneer whats up if your sending it back that many times.. dont you think?
