My Nav Arrows Are Gone!

I received a new unit (warranty replacement) with the new firmware already installed. I just went into testmode to make a few changes (but didn't actually change anything) and then restarted the unit. When the unit booted up and went into the 2D map, I noticed that my arrow was gone and in its place was a shadow version of the arrow. In the 3D map there is a gray version of the large arrow. What happened and how do I get my old arrows back?

Hmm, it's tough to say without getting a look at what is in your DATA.zip file. Is there any way you can grab that and take a look at it?

If so, let us know if ui_pioneer/common/daycar.bmp and ui_pioneer/common/daycar.spr are valid images. Usually the system will fail to boot if it can't find those, so I doubt that's the problem.

Have you tried a reset?

False alarm. It turns out that when your GPS signal is low the arrows turn gray/semi-transparent and the maps colors get all messed up and it places you in the middle of Los Angeles. I just had to drive my car for a few minutes to get a signal and it replaced all of the arrows.

Interesting (and good to know!).

nobody knew that? lol

It should have also said GPS Signal Lost when the arrow grays out

I had no idea. The arrows were grayed out at startup and there was no "GPS signal lost" voice. That's why I was so confused, I thought something was wrong with my data.zip file.

Well at least you got it back to normal. I saw this thread earlier and i was going to say that its probably a lost signal, but the missing arrow in 2d is what threw me off
