Hey guys I was fixing to do the bypass on my D3. I was thinking of putting it on a switch in the center console though. Which lead do you think I should use for switch?
I thought this would be good incase get pulled off, inspections we have here and also to prevent any navigation problems?

Just put a toggle switch on the parking brake wire. When you want to disable the bypass, just flip the switch and it will think that the parking brake is off and lock you out.

Just curious, what kind of inspections are you talking about? I mean say you get pulled over, how would a cop know if it's bypassed or not?
Adding the bypass before the parking brake was pretty simple and something you can easily do on your own.
ILL BE ADDING A SWITCH FOR SURE? WOULD IT BE A ON-OFF
OR A MOMENTARY SWITCH?
any kind of switch you want to use will do it. toggle, button, just make sure you either relocate the ground or do the software bypass. Then put the parking brake wire to one side of the switch and wire the other side to ground. You have to press/flick the switch to bypass it then.
I am indeed curious...how would a cop know if the bypass is in place or not....and when would a car ever be inspected....

they won't pull you over suspicion... only if you're physically caught watching it while driving. They won't just hop into your car, and try to watch a DVD.
Well not for nothing but if they saw you watchin a movie, you're already screwed, whether it's on a switch or not, so I still have no idea what he's trying to accomplish. what is he gonna say, "oh officer, you must be mistaken, my bypass is on a switch."
