MSN Direct Problems

I have the F900BT and added the HD tuner. I activated MSN several times and.... NOTHING!

Since I did the install myself, I spoke with a professional installer who said he had trained on the Pioneer line the week before and they said the only antenna required was into the HD add-on box.

I noticed that I was getting HD reception great, but no FM and no AM signal. I found that VERY strange especially since the install instructions said to only run the car antenna through the the HD box.

Then, in small print on the HD install instructions was a note about MSN Direct wouldn't work with the HD unit unless you put in a splitter and ran an antenna to the HD box AND to the head unit. So, I cobbled a splitter together, plugged it up and VOILA! MSN Direct in minutes.

Thought I'd pass this on. The Pioneer experience has been a bit mixed but mostly positive. Love the sound... love the ability to hack into the data files and customize :-) Don't necessarily love the start up times. Maybe if Pioneer could HIRE DECENT PROGRAMMERS instead of farming it out to the evil empire, we'd all be better off!

This has been covered already. An antenna splitter is $6 shipped from ebay. And yes it would've helped if pioneer didnt include this note in such fine print cause i myself wasted hours and days for shipping and bestbuy installing this little piece of wire.
