Hello guys. I have a 07 for mustang and I am planning to buy a Avic D3? is it a good decision or should I choose another pioneer? Also I heard that with Shaker 500's you have to buy a voltagge regulator? anyone know anything about this?
toss in a 1k resistor in between the d3 amp turn on wire and the turn on wires on the shaker plug. i had a d3 in my 07 stang with the shaker 500 and i connected it to the d3 sub output and it worked great!
do i need a mustang installation kit or does it fit by itself? or any adaptors ?

To answer your question about the D3 being a good choice, I think depending on what you want, it may be.
the D3 is discontinued but you can probably find it new for a good price now. I bought mine last november, paid 750 plus all the accessories. I think you can find it below 500 now with the ipod cable.
If you are the type that wants the latest and greatest regardless of price, the F series may be worth looking at. it was introduced a few months ago.

so I have the ipod aux output in my car. It came with it. Do I still have to buy that ipod cable for the D3 ?
the old input will not work, plus the ipod cable has a nice interface on the d3, along with better sq.
so where do you put the ipod kit? back of the d3 or outside the dash?
