Is there firmware to make a pre-august 06 Z1 capaple of pin swap versus TR7. TR7 stopped working, replaced TR7 and still does not work.

Yes, there is a firmware update to make the 2 wire bypass work. You could also upgrade to the Z3 maps and firmware. The Z3 (image) will also support the 2 wire bypass.
