Hot out of the box, I received my new iPod touch 32gb unit, and after hours of syncing, I pluigged it into my Avic F-900bt and lo and behold it worked as flawlessly as my iPod classic. Audio was good, cover art was perfect and video was searchable, controllable and looked great.

I appreciate the efforts apple and Pioneer put forward to this, or what a great success by accident !

Happy driving !

I just picked up an F900BT, and from my understanding, an original 16gb iPod touch will not work with the latest firmware? (I can't get mine to connect, which is why a google search led me here) Would a downgrade fix this, or is the 1st gen Touch just not compatible?

Thanks in advance!

It will work if you downgrade to the 1.4.

I just updated to the newest to see if it was would work, 2.1, and no cigar, still doesnt work. I have no idea why the 2nd gen touch works.

Yes, a downgrade to 1.1.4 would fix the connection.

Hmm, that's unfortunate to hear, not looking forward to re-syncing it :(

Thanks for the quick replies though!

What firmware version is the 2nd gen iPod Touch?

Have any updates come out since it was released?

My 2nd gen just got here a couple hours ago. I'm still at work, with no iTunes on my PC, so I can't check. I want to be sure that if any updates have been released, and someone has done them, that they can confirm it still works with the F series.

Thanks.

hey guys i have a ipod touch with firmware 1.1 will it still sync with a 700? im planning on geting one in the coming weeks

Posted Oct 04, 2008 · 03:02 UTC#15

are there any plans for fixes or firmware upgrades to fix the issue so that first gen ipod touches with the 2.1 firmware will be able to be used at least for audio???

If there is going to be a fix I gess it's going to be on apple's side, that means wait for a new firmware update for the itouch. The best thing you could do for now is to downgrade your itouch to FW 1.1.4, the video doesn't work and the album art looks like crap but you still have music and it charges the ipod.

Hi guys... I have a 1st gen iPhone and the compatibility with my F700bt is not the best. I don't get any video and album art is terrible. After reading this thread, I decided to purchase the 2nd gen iPod Touch. However, when connecting it to my unit, the results were unchanged, the album art is crapxilated and the video button is still greyed out. Can anyone help me out on this? Thanks a lot in advance.
