what good does the Reverse Gear wire do and what does the Speed Sensor wire do? is there a point in connecting these wires?

If you have a back-up camera installed, then the reverse wire will automatically turn it on when ever you select "Reverse" on your shift lever. If you don't have the camera I doubt you need the wire connected.

The speed sensor wire should be connected as it sends signals to the brain that will help the system initialize.
