Can somebody tell me the differences in regards to the navigation between the z3 and d3? I know the d3 is discontinued, but I can still get one new and save about $400... and I plan on connecting an IPOD so having music on the hdd of the z3 i don't think is too big of an advantage, especially since i read that the hdd locks up on hot days..

 

so, advantages of the z3 in regards to navigation as well as anything else? (other than the larger screen). is navigation MUCH faster on the z3?

The navigation is pretty fast on the Z. I never compared it to a D3 though. The iPod is SLOW for browsing on the Z3. I guess Pioneer developers never heard of functional scrollbars. My HDD has not locked up on hot days.

 

I don't know about the D3, but I really appreciate the Z3's option of a QWERTY onscreen keyboard for POI entry and also the sort by distance option, both of which a D1/D2 don't have. I don't know if a D3 has those things, but my impression is a D3's navigation is the same as D1/D2 and most changes were in the A/V functions.
