411 is the answer to my AVIC prayers!! My Z1 bypasses with the headlights -- wished I knew about that 20 long distance car trips ago -- and I want to make sure that I don't download something to change that for now. So a couple of questions:

Does the Pioneer firmware upgrade (for heat lockup?) potentially change the headlight bypass?

Same for the bluetooth update. My bluetooth works great (RAZR V9, contact transfer one-by-one), so should I update?

Same for the Gracenote CDDB update, will that change my headlight bypass?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think I'm heading towards toomy's Z3 upgrade, so I'd love some feedback in terms of performance differences.

Not sure on most of the things you asked about, but the Z3 upgrade will definitely break your bypass trick of flicking your headlights.

 

HOWEVER, the two wire bypass is super easy, and if you live in the San Diego area I'd be willing to do it for you.
