Hi there! I'm Gonna get an amplifier and subwoofer soon to improve the system a lot more and noticed that the amp audio input is RCA and almost every installation guide i've checked says just plug the RCA leads into the RCA output on the back of the stereo, but these don't have RCA outputs, how am i supposed to hook it up?

(also how do you hook it up so that you can use the subwoofer setting in the sound menu?)

Thanks in advance :D:D

You need the harness, it should have come with one that plugs right into the back of the D3. It will have 3 sets of RCA outputs....front, rear and........you guessed it! Subwoofer. After installing, go to the sound menu and you can adjust the sub output toeither full range or sub range.

Brilliant, thanks for the reply, only just realised that since i had it fitted, i forgot about the 2nd harness with all the RCA outputs (duh!)

so if I hooked it up to the subwoofer output, would i be able to switch the amplifier on and off using the subwoofer menu?

Thanks again :!:

No, the sub cannot be cut off by the D3, it will only change the range of frequency going to it. Do what I did and put a toggle switch on the remote line to your amps, this way you can cut them off when needed. Or you can get the Kicker SX series amp, they have a remote for adjusting all amps hooked up to it which makes it pretty easy if your amps are hiding.

D3 will let you mute the sub, but will not turn it off. Sorry, coffee hasn't kicked in yet!

Muting the sub is exactly what I wanted, So if it's just hooked up conventionally e.g. RCA cables and singal on etc. etc. I can mute the sub with the D3?

P.S. You can tell I'm new with this :D

Yes, go to the AV menu and select a source (Ipod, XM, Sirius, etc) then push the menu button above the round knob, then touch the sounds button on screen. You will see a box onscreen that says sub...touch that and it will take you to the sub input and you can turn on/off from there. It's not turning the sub itself off but it is cutting off the signal to it.
