Wow. Why would a station broadcast on a frequency not allowed? Is this a Canadian station by chance? Does HD radio allow this? I know nothing about this stuff, that's why I'm curious. Makes no sense for me to own a radio station most people can't listen to.

Ok, it's sad to say but Customer service isn't that knowledgable about their systems, just read numerous post about their bad service. If it's only a software issue then there has to be a software to have a USA/Eur. version.I'm sure Pioneer knows how to flash a system to convert it to a Eur. version. For that service rep. to say that Pioneer doesn't know how to fix it is like saying Pioneer doesn't know how to fix all the problems that the F series are having and they're mostly software related!

But we keep coming back to the same thing, the US FM band is from 87.9-108, the station that's broadcasting at 87.7 knows they're under where the FCC standard starts, and they took their risks by doing it. Even the tuning steps between channels are different in the UK vs US.

I have this hunch you're never going to see more then 20 stations in the US that break the rules and are under 87.9, and yes, it stinks that one is a popular NYC channel, but that's why we have standards.

I have a Pioneer Elite system at my house that goes down to 87.5 but again that doesn't apply to the Pioneer car systems.
