Do you stand behind the AVIC Z series or is there another apple of your eye.
What is the best Nav unit on the market?
The Z is a pretty good headunit for as old as it is, but there are by far MUCH better GPS units out there. If GPS is the only thing you consider, the Z series is really only worth the dough if you live in a big city/California.
how old would you say the maps are? (sorry to jump in on this tread)
I can not recommend the Z2 to anyone because it is so damn buggy, hopefully the Z3 HDD update will fix the problems.
My other car will definitely have a Kenwood Excelon DNX8120 in it.
The F-series routes worlds better than my Z did. It has other issues, but if you are speaking only about nav, its better
hopefully the Z3 HDD update will fix the problems.
WOW, it did! ![]()
hey i just bought the z2 what updates do i have to do?
im really bad with these things
please help me out where to get the updates and stuff!
thanks so much
i love my z3.. i first looked at the F series, but the slow boot up killed it for me.. i also looked at the kenwood 8120 but really couldnt stand the interface and i don't like garmin navi.. i looked at the alpine - looks like a bangin unit but heard too many bad things about their navi... the panasonic stradas and the eclipse and the jvc all look nice but i still went with the z3... trust me i looked for so long cuz it kinda pissed me off that the z3's hardware hasn't changed since the z1 but ended up still getting it... i think that just goes to show how far ahead of its time the z1 was.
One thing I would like them to add in their next update is a Full screen 3D Map (instead of it only being half the screen).
