Im installing my D3 into a 04 chevy silverado. The first time i hook everything up and turn the key on it works just fine, but once i turn the key off and open the door( so the power turns off) and turn the key on again the unit starts up and just goes straight to a blank screen and in the top left shows the time and says off underneath the time. When this happens none of the buttons work as if the green wire isnt grounded but it is. Does anyone know what the problem is here or has had this problem and solved it? Im sure its something small and stupid im not seeing but help me out.

Thanks

do you have the right wirering harness that lets you still have the chime. and how do you have it hooked up. list everything you can. and what green wire are you talking about. it should be black ground. and tealish green wire should be your parking break wire and if you doing the by pass then check that another time.

i know that on mine the second time i reinstalled everything it did not place a small cut in the wire insallation so that it grounds its self. and check out my post on the 2005 silverado install and check out what i did.

i know i have everything hooked up right this isnt the first vehical its been installed in, i had it in a 05 mustang and it worked perfectly. yes i have the install kit that has the door chime and everything. yeah im doing the bypass and have the parking break wire grounded along with the yellow wire from the bypass. Thats all correct isnt it?

do you have a nav disk in when you do this. if so is it one of the new 2008 disk downloads. if that is the case i have had the same issue with that also. sometimes i have a issue where i shut off the truck with i think the east disk in and it resets my back grounds and powers on and off and i can only seen the top menu bar so i am not sure what the deal is with that. it might have been a bad burn. or something. i really don't think its a ground issue.
