I see where u can change it to the default stored screens. What about custom background? I checked the forum only to find the custom background images..not how to change to custom images

You are talking about the start up splash screen right? Look for the option "from SD or from USB" and then select the image from the source, ba-da-boom!
Make sure the parking brake is ON and start look into every option that you have in your settings from left to right. Know the system functions and mess with everything you can. (image size is 800x400.)
I'd tell you for sure but I don't even know the unit that well...

SD Card or USB flash drive. Create a "Pictures" folder, and put your 800x480 .jpeg images in there. system settings, splash screen, import from. It's in the manual, which is why you won't find it on the forum.
