Bluetooth Issue?

Hey guys, just installed this AVIC Z1 with bluetooth, like the unit so far, but I was wondering if any of you all could help me out with something,

My phone has bluetooth, and when it searches for devices, it finds the Z1, hooks up to it and yay, works. HOWEVER, when I go to the Z1 to look at the Phone Menu, the option is disabled. I look at the signal settings, my GPS has a signal but under phone signal, its says "NOK"

What's going on? The bluetooth works from Phone to Unit but not from UNit to Phone is it just a simple plug that's not connected or what? By the way, it comes up as the EXT input when I pick up a phone call.

Also, has anyone wired the unit to work with the stock Aux input? (On a 06 Civic Si Coupe)

Really? It sounds like there is a NON-pioneer bluetooth adapter installed into this.

If you installed one of these in the back:

Then it won't come up with an EXT input. If someone calls you, the screen should change with a caller id and give you the option to answer it or not. If this is not happening, then my guess is that you have some third party bluetooth adapter going through your aux in or something.

This could explain why the Z1 doesn't think there is a phone connected to it, there isn't, it's connected to this third party thing and it's changing to that input when you get a call.

If you hold down MENU you get to the phone pairing. I pair my phone to the Z1 and "find the Z1" from my phone, but then it's listed in the phone menu.

If this isn't happening you might have some non-pioneer bluetooth thing hooked in some how.

Did you install this? If so, did you install a ND-BT1? If not can you ask who did?

I know it's DEFINITELY not a 3rd party BT unit because I bought the unit, and physically looked at it, however I did not install the unit myself, I had it install at a sound shop

this is the one I got

awww man, now I see.....damn the one I bought is like a standalone thing, damn it....this sucks, should I take this out? or is there a way to use this the same way as the one on crutchfield?

Yah, what you have is not really a "3rd party". I said that cause I didn't know pioneer made what you bought. It's an "add on" to a non-bluetooth ready radio. The Z1 is "bluetooth ready" but you need to buy the antenna and plug it in.

Should you yank it out and replace it? Well, it depends... how is the sound quality? The sound quality of the NT-BT1/Z1 was one of the sticking points. You need the phone sound somewhat on the low size (it's loud enough for me to hear it, but it's low) so that the mic doesn't pick up the callers voice and retransmit it and give them an echo. For some this bothers them quite a lot... for me, I have a pretty quiet car, so I just leave the volume down and it works great for me.

But the way it works is very nice. It's all integrated into the Z1 and all the phone numbers and caller id's and stuff all come up on the screen. It can also then use your phone to call POI's that you find in the database.

Personally, I like the BT1, it's much smaller and much more simple to install, just plug it into the back of the Z1 and it's auto recoginized. And you can keep all your addresses and contacts in the Z1.

The best voice quality was the Parrot CK3100, but it's not as integrated.

No.

If you want it integrated, you will want one of these:
