I was thinking that if it was burning from CD's the HD might get eaten up faster than I would like

what hard drives could i put in my Avic z3?

is it any HD with ATA 6?

Is there any way I could put this HD in with these specs?

No, it must be a toshiba drive. You are still limited to Pioneer's 400 artist/album limit. The stock 30gb drive with a 9gb music partition will hold about 160 full cd's. A Toshiba 60gb MK6034GAX with a 37GB music partition will hold the full 400 albums with space to spare.
