Jsut wanted to share...

It's been getting down to the 30's outside at night the past couple weeks (my truck parks outside) and when I start the truck in the morning some odd things happen with the F900.

- The Deck will not always remember if it was playing a CD or USB so it just boots up to the Menu

- This mornig the Deck booted very quickly (like 15 seconds) to a black screen showing the OFF button in the corner, pressed menu and it went right to the Main menu and started working. Still had to select the CD or USB though to start paying music.

Its just goofy and weird, I have not done the 2.0 update yet not that I think it will affect this issue...

I wonder if your car battery is getting a bit weak? Especially when you crank on the starter, there is such a drop in power the unit resets itself? There is no cmos battery or any other electronics I would think in the f series taht would be effected by cold weather, except maybe the screen. However too low of voltage could explain all sorts of weird behavior. Especially with the cold and how much that effects things. Also keep in mind how the wiring harness is connected, did you just use tape and wrap the wires together no soldering it? That could also explain why the cold affects it, especially electrical tape and how it firms it up.

I'm going to go with the "weak battery" theory as well

I'm having the same issue....but like you said, only when it's cold. I drove in to work today and it's in the 30's and the music would finally start playing but the touch screen would not respond the whole way. It took like 20 minutes for it to warm up and then FINALLY the touch screen worked! Any fixes for this (minus going in and and re-taping/soddering) available?
