Adjusting EQ?

Is there an easy way to adjust the equalizer on this unit? I cannot get great sound using the equalizer if my life depended on it. When i adjust one setting a few bars move and things like that. Is there a way to just adjust bass, mid and treble?

just go to EQ and then choose custom. You can adjust the way you want. There is no simple way like stock Head Unit. It has a lot more to offer. You just have to know how to tweak it.

that is what I am doing. But when i try to adjust one level like say one of the bass frequencies, it will adjust like a few other ones too..

You need to adjust center frequency and Q of Equalizer bands first...

Figured this may be a good place to ask this, does anyone have a good starting point to go off of here of is it based solely on your car's environment.

I too can't seem to get the right sound through the EQ. Some songs sound great while others I get rattled out of my car by the Bass. It's hard for me to try to find a starting point.

Or is there a place online where I can research and learn how to adjust the system properly? What do you guys use?

Took me a while to get a good sound going, here are my settings

Low / 40 hz / 6 / Wide 2

Mid / 1k / -2 / Narrow 1

High / 8.5k / 1 / Wide 1

I'm 99% sure anyway, and in my Altima it sounds fantastic (imo)

The EQ in the F series truly sucks, IMHO. 3 bands just isn't enough to do any sort of fine tuning. Since the three bands are isolated, you can't make any fine adjustments. For example, you can't deal with a peak at 500Hz and a dip at 1k - you can only address one of those two.

Just as a (very) general rule, most cars/trucks have a major resonance point around 120Hz. Pioneer gives us centers of 100 and 160? The simple 7-band fixed EQ in my FH-P8000BT was much better than the F series.

A 5 to 7 band fully adjustable center frequency EQ would be much better.

I posted a question about possible mods but got zero responses.
