I was thinking I would love to be able to play some nintendo64 games off of my f90bt.

I am not good with computers so this is more of a question. Is it possible?

Do any of the emulators out there now support windows ce?

Is the f-series hardware powerful enough to run this?

Thank you to any1 who can answer this for me.

Not while driving, one hopes...

hmm... why not use it as an AV source... all you need are the rca to rca plugs...

I believe you could find an emulator that runs with Windows CE.. take a look around.

The problem may be finding ROMs for that emulator, as it probably wouldn't be a popular one.

But I do believe you can hook up to an external AV source?

Yes, use the nine-hundred dollar navigation unit to play twenty year old games. It would be better for you go buy an old NES at a garage sale and use the video in.

Only cost me $400 for the unit, and N64 is only 12 years old.

Where is the video-in?

Ok, I didn't read the question thoroughly. No vid in on an F90 (right?) and yeah, its not 20 years old.

I was under the impression that the F series did have a video in? If not, how does it get iPod videos? Audio and Video In.

Dont give up :lol::lol:

Anyways, getting an emulator on the avic isn't exactly impossible, but what is required to get it working? You can install it onto the unit but how do you get it to work? how would you control it? how would you access it? it may be more feasible to just install an n64 into the car and set it up to the video in and play like that. But if you go that route, N64 is a pretty bulky system. Though it is bad ass and has some of the best games known to man, maybe a PS2 slim in the glove box would be a better route to go. That's just my opinion so dont think im bashin Nintendo (Goldeneye 007 is my all time favorite game :lol: )

Doesn't the iPod cable itself transfer the audio/video feeds to the AVIC? I didn't think there was a separate video in?

Yeah, but a Y-adaptor will take care of that.

Posted Nov 15, 2008 · 00:46 UTC#13

Interesting... So you could hook the Y adapter to the I-pod cable and that could send an A/V feed to the AVIC?

Posted Nov 15, 2008 · 00:52 UTC#14

Yep. Y Adaptor from the Video In off the avic, and on the other side, hook up A: the Video from the iPod and B: The video from the system. Actually now that I think about it, the iPod wire also uses the Audio in so you'd need 3 Y adaptors. You're pretty much hooking up 2 A/V sources into one. And since you can't play both at the same time you don't hsave to worry about interference between them.

Oh, I was thinking there was a way to pass an AV feed through the iPod cable with a different wire.

using pioneer CD-RM10 cable or compatible version :roll:

Aha! That cable would surely do the trick for the frontal AUX input. What similar options do we have for connecting to the rear?

I guess that could work if you don't care about hiding wires :roll:

If you want to go from the back, your only option is Y adaptors on the Audio/Video In wires. Y Adaptors are cheap anyways, places like Radioshack will have them. And you won't have any wires showing in the front.

Trying to recall which wires are open in the back.. Do they have female Yellow/Red/White coming from the rear?

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I used to be a big Ipaq geek and I have an N64 emulator (PocketNES) with ROMs that work on WinCE pocket PCs... So if someone who knows what they are doing is interested in trying to install it on their Avic let me know. Some games can be controlled by the stylus, and others would need to have the buttons mapped (PocketNES allows buttons to be mapped though I don't know if it will work on the AVIC), but I guess a real controller is out of the question. So this might not get us anything but it might be a fun experiment (my AVIC is still on order so I can't try this just yet...).
