The manual doesn't say anything about how to clear the TILT AND ROTATION controls from the 3D view.

Occasionally I miss a button and touch the map. This pops up the TILT controls. Then I can't get rid of them.

I know I'm probably missing something simple....

Press the screen again. Then press MAP to get rid of the cross hair.

That is what I discovered and was doing. However, after installing the Quick Launch bar mod, the method you describe does not work anymore.

Not sure why it wouldn't work anymore. I wonder if hitting 2D then 3D would be a work-around. (If it works, I'll post back here).
