Does anyone know the difference between the sr1 and the sr11? Does the unit have to "see" the head? Is it IR?
Thanks,

It is the same except it has talk and end buttons for phone functions. It still needs to see the Z1

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Which one has the talk and end buttons? The 1 or the 11?
Thanks.

How does the steering wheel remote work if it has to see the unit? If it is on the steering wheel the IR will not be pointing at the Z1!

Please explain. Is the remote wired?

Probably uses a wide angle IR and hopes enough of it hits the Z1 to make it work...

How does this attach to the wheel? Is it pretty clean install or is it cheezy?

Not too cheesy once you get it on there. It comes with a rubber strap that goes around the wheel. Must be mounted on the right side of your wheel for the infrared to work (assuming you're in the US.)

I just installed mine yesterday and it works well. I did need to install it on the right side for it to work properly. Takes a little getting use to..the volume buttons are on the back of the remote. Once you get use to it though it's pretty cool.

IMO yes it does. It adds an answer and hang up button which is cool and the top of the remote has a phone menu button that takes you straight into the phone menu. If you know the # you are calling you can make a call without ever touching the screen.
