I have an ipod touch with firmware 2.1 on it and I cannot get the ipod to show up. I have an ipod composite cable hooked up to the av input on the back of the unite and have the usb cord conned to the usb input. then i plug my ipod in and all it does it charge and makes a weird noise when I connect it. Am I doing something wrong? I also changed av1 input to ipod.

go to av settings and change av1 to ipod

Does the screen on the iTouch say "Pioneer OK to disconnect"? Because if not then it could just be your cable. If you have access to another ipod, try that first.

no it just shows that it is charging as if i were using a regular ipod usb cable

You might try resetting the ipod. Seems to work for some on here
