Crutchfield says the D2 doesn't fit in 06 Escape . They also said it wouldn't fit in my Century but it does . Does anyone know for sure ?

If they make a double din kit for it, I'd assume it will fit. It's odd though that metra only has a single-din kit however.

I don't believe there is a kit for it but it will fit. You will need to modify the the opening a bit and use some sort of brackets to hold it in. Use the black trim piece that comes with the unit to hide everything.

Crutchfield also said a D2 wouldn't fit in my 2003 Ford SuperCrew, but it did. I had Best Buy install that stereo and warned them that Crutchfield said it wouldn't work but it was compatible by their computers and again, it worked.

It will fit. You will have to file down a little bit of the plastic. Then just use your own screws in those 8 little holes on the D2 and screw it into the plastic trim

LOL, that's how I was car shopping back in March, If it didn't have a double-din opening or a dash kit, I wasn't interested.
