From the deck or from the speakers?

i get this from time to time, I think its the shitty iGo navigation having background noise

That would be rather hard to imagine...

I say that because it happens more often than not after the voice guidance ends and can last from 10 to 60 seconds.. just staticy white noise. It could also have to do with how iGo attenuates the volume for the rest of the system when it does queue voice guidance.

mine is anytime i put the volume to zero.

I'd blame either MiTAC's hardware or Pioneer's sound manager then...

FWIW I don't seem to have this problem...

I just love the level of detail you provide, I think the equivelent would be, something is wrong with my car, makes this rattle sound when I stop. What's wrong?

I did notice this sound/noise as well after a button sound plays as well and its mentioned it the 2.0 feedback forum. It is only evident if you have the volume extremely low, and since that is rarely the case I forgot about it. Fun stuff.

It's obviously not you, so perhaps it will be addressed in a future update.

I can honestly say that I have never had any hissing noise, but I also never have my volume set at zero.

The hiss is also present in the background when the volume is on. Could i have not grounded the unit right?

Posted Dec 02, 2008 · 22:28 UTC#14

Well, I wouldn't think it is the grounding cause in my case the hiss starts only when I'm calling someone via bluetooth. But it does not happen when someone calls me.

I have exactly the same problem...took it back to the installer and he told me the hiss was probably coming from my Amp. It's annoying as hell...can't hear it when anything is playing, but having spent over $1000 for the system, peripherals and install, I would expect not to have a hiss (which was never there before when I had my factory radio installed)

So now I've taken to explaining that it's a "feature". You know, like those Bose headsets that create white noise so you can't hear what's going on around you....Yeah, that's it.....

Are you folks sure it's not them plugging Pioneer high output speaker lines into a factory amp and not using a converter?
